Between January 2019 and September 2020, the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) has received approximately 73,000 complaints on unsolicited calls and text messages. Of these complaints, around 21,000 were related to unlicensed moneylending, and 19,000 were related to illegal betting or gambling opportunities. These complaints have been referred to the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

The PDPC will continue to support the SPF in their efforts to tackle scams and other illegal activities.
